An advocacy organization operating from Israel has reported that the actual toll is likely significantly greater, due to many of unaccounted for detainees from Gaza.

Study Results

High-Profile Cases

Certain fatalities in detention have been high profile, for instance a middle-aged healthcare leader who died in prison after 120 days in detention.

A prisoner detained alongside the individual testified that he was led to the exercise area by guards immediately preceding his death, visibly injured and naked from the hips downward. His corpse has not been returned to Gaza.
